talks, walks & workshops

As well as making my own art, I also run art wokshops and nature talks & walks. Read on for details.

Bird Talks

I share my knowledge of the natural world with enthusiastic folks who wish to learn more.

I take groups on guided nature walks throughout the year where we will experience the sights and sounds of birds in a variety of habitats (including cities), with interesting facts and some often very surprising stories along the way. We will discuss foraging and herbal plant knowledge where possible, as well as conservation, the changing world, the importance of wild spaces and what we can do help our feathered friends - and all nature - thrive.

If you are looking for a nature themed birthday event, a team building day, or you and your friends just fancy learning more about about wildlife, then get in touch and I will build you a personalised package. I even offer dawn chorus walks for the intrepid amongst you!

I am based in London but can travel anywhere in the UK.

If you want to learn more about the birds and plants in your garden or local park, then this is for you! Use the button below to get in touch.

Testimonials

Mid June is not the busiest time for dawn birdsong, and 5.30am not my usual start time, but Jane Mutiny’s energy and wide ranging knowledge of all things bird related, and the lovely location of Bethnal Green Nature Reserve’s woodland and wetland, made the early start well worthwhile.

In the early morning peace, we were able to discern familiar and less familiar song with Jane’s guidance, and the quieter spells allowed for Jane’s selection of bird poetry, including her own, to add another beautiful way to enjoy our feathered co-habitants of the planet. I’d definitely get up early again for another one.

Jane is an allrounder; an ornithologist, artist and storyteller. Her walks offer a glimpse into the remarkable and often overlooked birdlife living in our city, and her workshops are a must … connecting us with the wondrous wildlife on our very doorstep.
— Michael Smythe; site manager, Bethnal Green Nature Reserve
We had so much fun learning about and spotting birds with Jane in and around Hackney Marshes. Her passion for all things birds was very inspiring and she covered a lot of info all in a very fun and accessible way. Our group had such a good time that after doing an initial one-off session we plan to make this session an annual event!
Thank you Jane :)
